For Quality Special Effects, Oversampling is the key
I generally aquire Special effects footage at whats called "4k" the image is more than 4 times the size of a 1080p HD frame. This by the way is equivalent to 35mm motion picture film (think of a panavision camera with the big reels) the same type system used in Hollywood on blockbuster films. This extra resolution of course results in a great picture but also allows for post production cropping and even post production camera moves (zooms, pans, tilts)! We haven't even discussed the increased latitude, that's the difference in light and dark areas in a picture. Video camera latitude is very limited and often results in extreme over and under exposure, wether you want it or not. Digital cinema on the other hand has a latitude nearing that of film, much greater, this gives you more control over the exposure and allows for much more dramatic lighting. Both of these qualities, greater resolution and exposure range, have many more benefits, one is the ability to do more realistic and classy special effects like green screen, tracking and image manipulation. Sometimes you have to get a shot under less than desirable circumstances and that can create framing, exposure and shake problems, that never happens right? Well when it does it's usually on the shot you need, and with digital cinema (RedCam) you can often recover a good picture from a less than ideal picture by employing special effects and processing. Your videos and advertising can live on ad infinitum in cyberspace, something unheard of in advertising just a few years ago. Make sure viewers continue to watch by making your stories and promotions the best you can now!

All of my current productions are produced in Digital Cinema format. Meaning, though electronic, the frames are captured in a format that more closely emulates film cameras. Technically 23.976 Progressive frames per second in Ultra High resolutions starting at HD (1920 x 1080) to 35MM film equivalent (4096 x 2304)
Wether its a single image or a continous stream, it's all about photography.
I run a Private Production Studio for a Corporate Client who allows some outside production work. Take advantage of the Hollywood quality greenscreen and effects afforded by this strategic partnership.
